Hi there! It’s been ages since I last blogged…so long, in fact, that this blog has turned into a collection of show notes articles for my podcast. But things are changing around here, and I suspect I’ll be blogging a lot more as I go through yet another transition.
Yesterday, I sent this email to my list:
What does this mean? Well, I sent that email yesterday in the midst of a total identity crisis, which in retrospect probably wasn’t the greatest idea, but I’m glad I did it because it gave me accountability for making changes in my life. These changes have been in the works for some time (yesterday afternoon I went through my old journals and found references to this as far back as April), but since I was resisting them, I didn’t take the action to actually make the changes a reality. They’ve been bubbling underneath the surface until they all came to a head in the last couple of days.
It all started on Sunday night when I got my weekly Akashic Records email from Vickie Young:
Holly, dear one, we wish to prepare you for a bit of bad news. This week might be somewhat troubling for you.You might be feeling challenged, or ready to throw in the towel. We are here to tell you that you have been through worse. You have been strong as the trees you walk with. As a matter of fact, they will be the ones who will ground you through this little bit of a rough patch.Talk to them, they will advise you because they are where we are. They are us, we are them.Stay true to yourself.
I kind of freaked out when I read that. My mind went straight to all kinds of horrible scenarios. And then, thankfully, I managed to get to sleep and forget about it until Monday morning when I had a channeled session with my friend Cara Wilde. To be honest, I don’t even remember how we got started on the topic of change and transition, but it ended up completely changing my perspective on everything.
Yesterday was a rough day. I was irritable (I was probably mourning the end of an old identity) and also excited (about stepping into the new identity).
You see, after all my talk about how I was going to prioritize my writing this year, I didn’t. I wasn’t consistent with my beloved workcation weekends, and I didn’t manage to write the three books I wanted to this year. I did write and release my latest walking book, Walking the Wey-South Path, and I’m about 80% finished with the second edition of my first business mindset book Business Beliefs, but I’m no longer releasing that book.
And the most important book of them all, which I originally hoped to release in December of this year, has been abandoned for the past few months. I’ve made no progress at all on it! Things needed to change. As I said in my email, I’ve had a sticky note taped to my desk lamp with the words “#1 PRIORITY TREE BOOK!” on it. And yet, I haven’t actually been making it a priority.
But now I am.
Here’s what I do know about this new focus and transition:
- As I focus on my “tree book” and my nature work, things will be changing around here. I’m probably going to redesign the look and feel of this website, and a lot of the copy will change drastically.
- The focus of my podcast will change, but I don’t know exactly what that’s going to look like yet. That means that I may be talking about random things for a while, which you may or may not be interested in.
- I’m probably going to be blogging more as I shift into a new focus. Writing has always helped me to get clarity, and I think it’s important for me to share this journey with you. I may also be blogging about random things that may seem totally unrelated to anything I’ve been writing about for the past few years, but there are all kinds of things I want to write about, and they don’t really fit into the confines of what I’ve been doing lately.
- I’m going to be focused on my writing as my top priority. For real this time.
- I’m also going to be putting energy into my Patreon community, which I’m really excited about. I’ll be closing down my Facebook group and shifting my community to Patreon.
If there’s one thing I know, it’s that the massive amount of mindset and energy work that I’ve been doing has helped lead me to the place where I am now. I feel like I’m stepping into a much more authentic version of myself, and I’m super excited about the path ahead.
That’s all for now. I wanted to write this out to help me get clarity on the changes that are ahead, and also to share them with you. Thanks for reading!
