I trust that you’ve been looking at both your vision board and your affirmations several times a day. What have you learned? How do you feel about your board? How do you feel when reading your affirmations? Has anything changed for you?

Today we’re going to look at how you might live your life differently if you were already all of the things you’ve been repeating as your affirmations. If you already were confident, if you already were flexible, if you already had what you needed to make your vision board come true…how would you live your life differently?

This is all about changing our ways of thinking and imagining a new way of living, using the vision board and the affirmations as a springboard for making our dreams become reality.

Get ready to start thinking differently so you can create the life of your dreams:

  1. Start out with a task meditation to clear your mind of daily clutter.
  2. Sit down with your vision board, your list of affirmations, and your journal or notebook.
  3. Take a good look at your vision board. Yes, once more. And read through your affirmations once again.
  4. Ask yourself the following questions: If you already were [Affirmation #1], how would you live your life differently? What would you do differently? What risks might you take? What might you say to somebody else in your life? What or who would you say not to when you usually say yes? What or who would you say yes to when you usually say no? Write all of your answers down in your journal or notebook.
  5. Repeat these questions for each one of your affirmations. Write all answers down in your notebook or journal.
  6. Review your entire list. You should have at least six answers for each one of your affirmations, which you should have at least eight of. There should be almost 50 responses on your list.
  7. How do you feel about the idea of doing these things? Does it scare you? Does it excite you? Does it make you nervous? Do you feel anxious to try some of them out? Write everything down in your notebook or journal.
  8. This is a long list, I know. I’d like you to copy everything down on a separate sheet of paper, so you can keep it handy. Take a look at it throughout the day, every day.
  9. If you feel inspired to try some of these things, do so. It’s not a required part of the exercise, though, so if you’re not feeling up to it, that’s fine, too.
  10. Notice any changes in your life, however subtle. Make note of them in your journal or notebook.
